About

Welcome to LDS Women of God.

For the past several years, I have researched much of the history of the Relief Society, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in hopes that sisters will understand the incredible past accomplishments of our organization. My intent is that by knowing our historical achievements, we can continue making a difference in our church and organization as a modern-day Relief Society.

In my research, it was clear to me that the priesthood leaders of our church exhibited much confidence in the women, and encouraged them to stretch themselves in their ability to receive revelation and inspiration. Sisters today have the same ability, and even more expectation, to fulfill our roles as faithful sisters in Zion.

I like a brand new facelift every now and then, to my blog that is. Everything is still here; it’s just a matter of looking through my categories. Who knows, you might find something that was buried in this site a long time ago that fits your needs today. Well, I hope so.

On this blog I hope you find the Relief Society history fascinating, and endless ideas to accomplish good works. Hopefully, you’ll find something that creates a desire in you, and gumption, to be like our early Relief Society sisters.

I have set a very long term goal, along with my General Conference Odyssey cohorts, to read through all of the General Conference addresses since 1971 (which are readily available online). Every week, look for the new post (under Categories) that I will write on a particular session, as well as links to the other posts written by other Odyssey members.

I am not affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, however, as a member of the Church, I do align myself with its principles and ideals. I invite you to visit the Church’s official websites at www.lds.org and www.mormon.org for more information.

What an inspirational page! Our Relief Society has a table in the foyer every Sunday with fabrics or materials and patterns which can be taken home to work on and returned when finished (no firm schedule) plus a quilting bee about every 4th month. ANd a Humanitarian night once a year . But you’ve given us renewed inspiration to do more. Thanks and God bless! Sharon
